This item has been on my wish-list for quite some time now...
Luckily, it came of the 'wish list' last month added to the 'realitly list'!
These chairs are from the Italian brand, 'Kartell' and it was designed by the amazingly talanted
'Philippe Starck'
(you should check out his website and designs-inspiring).
This chair takes the classic Louis XV chair and gives it a truly modern twist!
The Louis can be used inside or outside to give a playful modern edge to your home. Made from a single-mould injection in clear polycarbonate.
The main thing I enjoy and love about this piece is that fact that it's timeless yet will always be a modern item. That might not sound like it makes sense but look at it this way...the chair can be brought now (like I did) and will always remain a feature and work in any room or environment in 40 years + to come! The reason being it's simple, sleek and sophisticated, yet I feel also playful at the same time.
This pride of joy of mine takes centre stage in my bedroom and is perfect for those lazy, lounging Sunday afternoons for reading a book or paper, it's used as a workspace chair for me too as I can turn it around to sit with my dresser to then say draw on and place my laptop on to sit and blog, friends sit on it to have a chit-chat when they come round....it's just utterly perfect and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
I chose the classic, clear version to give the true 'ghostly' effect, but you can also purchase this chair in the following 6 transparent colours: crystal (clear); smoke (grey); crystal green; sunset orange; yellow; and ice blue-As well as in solid white and solid black.
Here are some images below which showcase this chair in different rooms and living environments...
Adding cushions gives it more comfort (even though without they are still comfy) and a hint of luxury.
I could rave about my love for this chair forever and ever...
But what do you think of these chairs?
Do you own one?
What style/colour would you go for?
And what room could you picture one in?
I want to one day have a whole dining room with these in...
